Covid claims one more life, 75 test positive in J&K | KNO

Tally reaches 127,363; death toll reaches 1969,Active cases around 900 in J&K, recovery rate around 98 percent

Srinagar, Mar 10 (KNO): Covid-19 on Thursday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,969 while 75 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 127,363. Of the exact number of 127,363 cases, 75,207 are from Kashmir and 52,156 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 75 new cases, 65 belong to Kashmir division while as 10 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 75,207 including 73,253 recoveries and 1,240 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,156 including 51,245 recoveries and 729 deaths. The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 896 including 714 from Kashmir division and 182 from Jammu division. With 77 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 124,498 which is 97.77 percent of the total cases. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 39 from Srinagar, 04 from Baramulla, 04 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 08 from Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 10 from Jammu division include 10 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 27,444 positive cases including 463 deaths and 26,557 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,363 including 177 deaths and 8,099 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,950 including 7,778 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,897 including 5,767 recoveries and 91 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,705 including 97 deaths and 5,593 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,075 including 4,953 recoveries and 89 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,724 cases including 4,647 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,684 including 4,619 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,748 including 2,679 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,617 including 2,561 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian. In Jammu division, 25,359 including 24,828 recoveries and 377 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,319 including 4,258 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,877 including 3,821 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,440 including 3,374 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,269 including 3,212 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,841 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,739 including 2,716 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,528 including 2,496 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,649 including 1,632 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin 1,374,133 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 31,916 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 896 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 1,226,462 persons have completed surveillance period and 112,890 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,488,910 samples are available. Out of 5,488,910 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,361,547 while as 127,363 have tested positive, among them 896 persons are active, 124,498 persons have recovered and 1,969 persons have died—(KNO)
